Sustainability on 3 fronts

Wine is cultural heritage. We must now take that to a sustainable future. Tastefever aims to promote social, financial and environmental sustainability within the wine sector. Being a winemaker means putting your shoulders to scientific and social initiatives from a supported mission.

A powerful trio

Sustainability is more than going organic. They are responsible investments that take into account social, economic and environmental elements. Writing a unique story together as a wine industry and turning guidelines into rules is a must.

Ecologically sustainable

Working organically with natural resources, composting, water efficiency, water conservation, promoting biodiversity, … That’s where the ecological sustainability story starts. And it continues. Because how you package wine also contributes to this goal. Recycled materials, bioplastics, … are good options. Don’t forget sustainable handling of energy, either. With LED lighting, solar panels, heat pumps … keep your costs under control and limit your impact on the environment.

Socially sustainable

A vineyard is hard work. How do you deal with pickers, do you take work-life balance into account, how do you cooperate with local organizations, how do you support nature associations, how do you engage with the immediate surroundings of your vineyard? All of these elements are part of socially sustainable work. Moreover, they boost the local business climate.

Economically sustainable

Ecological and social sustainability lay the foundation for economic sustainability. That’s operating on the right principles that drive your business and reputation. After all, a healthy vineyard is a vineyard that lasts longer. Satisfied employees and customers, in turn, guarantee productivity and a lower cost structure. This is how you guarantee the quality and sale of wine, today and tomorrow.

Environmental Sustainability

Your vineyard, your story, your reality. That also means you have your specific needs, concerns or issues when it comes to sustainability and traceability. Currently, Tastefever offers only the traceability component, but the ambition is to implement sustainability as well.
